A Massachusetts native, Michelle DeRusha moved to Nebraska in 2001, where she discovered the Great Plains, grasshoppers the size of Cornish hens … and God.
She is the author of Spiritual Misfit: A Memoir of Uneasy Faith, 50 Women Every Christian Should Know: Learning from Heroines of the Faith, and the soon-to-be-released biography Katharina and Martin Luther: The Radical Marriage of a Runaway Nun and a Renegade Monk (releasing January 31, 2017).
Lessons from Heroines of the Faith – What can we learn from some of the women who have walked before us in history in order to discern what God’s call might be for each of us?
When God Says No – Sometimes God closes the door, and it doesn’t always make sense. Yet often in God’s no, a yes is waiting to be revealed.
Christmas Is for Misfits – God often calls the least likely candidates to proclaim his message of hope. He chooses each one of us in spite of our mistakes and missteps – and perhaps sometimes because of them – to convey his powerful, ever-present message of hope, love, and grace.
The One-Inch Frame: A Writing Workshop – Have you ever heard the writing advice “show, don’t tell,” and wondered what in the world that really means? This writing workshop will give participants the concrete tools they need to make their writing a more detailed, sensory experience.
